LA Times asks the single most important question facing the Internet today: is it pronounced "gif" or "jif"? »

Apparently, today is the .gif’s 25th birthday. The LA Times is polling to ask whether it’s pronounced “gif” or “jif.” I am firmly in camp hard-G “gif,” because A) the G stands for “Graphics” and B) it looks like the word “gift,” therefore. Thoughts?
