If Romney wins, it will be because of his money. In roughly 85-98% of elections (figures vary), the person who spends the most money on their campaign wins. Our system has been deeply, deeply corrupted by money and our utter lack of campaign finance legislation.

I hope that if Romney wins, people will finally see how bad things are. If Romney had been born poor, we would never have heard of him. He wouldn’t stand a chance in politics. He’s terrible and even Republicans hate him (at least, they did, back before he was their candidate; now Fox News has decided it’s OK to like him strictly because he isn’t Obama). I hope, hope, hope people will realize how fundamentally destroyed our democracy is. I hope a Romney presidency would be the falling domino that finally sets an actual revolution in motion.

As for me, personally? I’ll be here*, writing and raging. Romney’s policies won’t hurt me too much. It’s other people that I’m worried about.
